About me

Hello, My name is Darren Godbold. I'm a 3rd year undergraduate student at Deakin University, studying a Bachelor of Information Technology with a major in Multimedia. Web design and development is a passion of mine that I wish to pursue throughout my career in IT upon graduating. My technical abilities include programming (C, C#, .NET and Java), database (SQL and Oracle), and web development (HTML, XHTML, XML, CSS, RSS, JavaScript, Flash and PHP). I also have a strong set of visual design skills and I am familiar with Adobe's Creative Suite package. All these skills I have developed both throughout my education and as a keen enthusiast.

Outside of my education and web development, I have had casual work positions at VideoEzy, BlockBuster Video, Village Cinemas and Dick Smith Electronics. These experiences have given me excellent customer service and communication skills. The team based environments of these jobs have also given me some good experiences collaborating and working in a team.

I am still currently employed casually at VideoEzy, as a senior staff memeber. I have had some managerial experience in this role which I would be keen to develop further in the IT industry later in my career. Through this casual work position I am also undertaking a Certificate III in Retail with on-the-job training.
